Welltok is looking for a Senior Counsel to join our Denver team at our LoDo office.  The Senior Counsel role will assist in protecting Welltok's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law.  You will provide hands-on legal counsel to all levels of the organization, be responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents (master services agreements, statements of work, strategic alliance agreements, partnership agreements, business associate agreements, service level agreement terms, teaming agreements and other contracts), presenting clear recommendations, and assuring legal compliance. Must have strong drafting skills and experience with a variety of healthcare industry and technology industry concepts. The position will report to the Vice President of Legal Services and involve regular interaction with sales representatives and various levels of company management, as well as attorneys representing Welltok’s customers, partners, and vendors. 


  • Providing legal support for Welltok’s commercial activity with a focus on negotiating and drafting SaaS and related services transactions in the healthcare industry;
  • Developing Welltok policies on specific issues, corporate governance and regulatory affairs;
  • Keeping informed of industry-specific regulations and ensuring that appropriate risk management strategies are in place;
  • Developing/enhancing corporate contracting processes; and
  • Reviewing work of contract managers and support personnel.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Colorado bar or any state bar with the ability to promptly obtain a Colorado single client license.
  • 4-7 years of legal experience, with law firm and in-house counsel experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory compliance (HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid).
  • Transactional experience with a focus on drafting and negotiating SaaS technology agreements.
  • Experience with data protection and privacy preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly team-oriented environment. 
  • Excellent business judgment and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
  • Occasional travel will be required.
