Scrum Master / Agile Coach

Scrum Master:

Tea Leaves Health, a subsidiary of Welltok, is looking for a Scrum Master to join our growing team in Roswell, GA. The Scrum Master acts as servant leader, has the complete accountability for performance, operations, communication, motivation of one or more cross functional Agile teams. He/She is also responsible for coaching (Agile coach), metrics reporting, scope management, process governance, facilitation of ceremonies. Occasionally takes on program management responsibilities for big initiatives at Portfolio level.

 

Core responsibilities

  • Coaching the engineering team, the product owner, and the business on the agile and scrum processes and best practices.
  • Team Operations: As Servant leader, he/she facilitates all team ceremonies, removes impediments, plans releases, tracks and reports of progress, resolve impediments & conflicts, shields team from any external pressures and drive team to high performance & cohesiveness.
  • Process Champion: As Agile coach, he/she responsible for governance, training, coaching and smooth transition of entire organization to Agile processes. Fosters continues learning by training & coaching teams, executives. Builds a positive & safe and high trust environment with culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Metrics: collects and report team, program, Portfolio metrics on team performance, development progress and issues & road blocks. He/she brings transparency to the highest level.
  • Liaison:  works as a bridge between Agile PMO, various functional groups (Product, Engineering, IT Ops, Business), resource managers, keeping them focused on common goals, objectives.

  • Builds self managed high performing teams by creating safe environment with culture of accountability, high trust, transparency and servant leadership.
  • Conduct retrospectives and take actions to ensure the problems are addressed in timely manner.
  • Proactively Collaborates with cross functional leaders in addressing staffing gaps, skill and performance issues.
  • Evaluates team performance and Agile maturity to take necessary actions.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information 
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog. 

 

What You Need to Have:

  • First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master)
  • 2+ years of experience playing the Scrum Master role a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory. 
  • Must be passionate about Agile with deep understanding of Core Agile Principles, Lean Software development principles and hands experience on wide variety of agile frameworks like Scrum, XP, Kanban, SAFe, XP, TDD, BDD.
  • Proven experience in mentoring, coaching and transforming organizations to agile.
  • Must have knowledge and experience applying patterns, best practices for filling gaps in the team’s Agile approach & operations and solving day to day problems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation skills with ability to influence, persuade technical, non-technical executives across departments.
  • Strong time management, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency 
  • Must have experience with one of the Agile ALM tools (Jira, Rally/Agile Central, Version One)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to narrate complex issues clearly & concisely.
  • Familiarity with Agile Requirements structure (Epic, User story), Org Structure, Agile Metrics, software development best practices, lean process improvement techniques.
  • Must be strong team player with ability to work in fast faced distributed teams with diverse skills & cultures.


Nice to Have skills:

  • Hands on experience on SAFe
  • Active member and contributor to local Agile user groups
  • Prior experience as Business Analyst or Program Management in Agile Organization
  • Experience in health care domain
  • Working in a distributed team, data driven analytics, Web and CRM applications.
