SUMMARY

In your role as Director, Product Management, you will lead strategy and execution for a rich set of products and capabilities by working in partnership with the market solution leaders, sales, marketing, and product development teams. You will drive the product roadmap and build strong business and technical relationships with internal and external partners. You will lead commercialization activities for your products. 

The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment of rapid change, be skilled at managing in such an environment, and be a strong leader with proven experience in managing a very high-performance team in a matrixed environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the full life cycle of products within the designated product family from concept through commercialization
  • Lead a highly-influential team of product managers to meet business objectives through a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Develop product business cases and product strategies that includes target markets, sales channels, and financial models that align with market priorities
  • Regularly engage with customers, prospects, and partners to continuously improve understanding on market needs and demands and to validate product direction
  • Translate market needs by clearly defining use cases and product requirements
  • Perform market and competitive analysis to understand current product position as well as identify trends and opportunities
  • Own the roadmap for designated products following a standard portfolio prioritization and planning process
  • Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding new products and capabilities, as well as progress against product goals with clear metrics
  • Provide sales pursuit team support as needed
  • Collaborate with other product leaders to ensure optimal value prop and consumer experience across the platform


EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of software product management experience, 3+ years of experience with a SaaS product preferred
  • Product management experience with both B2B and B2C products
  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred
  • Experience in healthcare industry required, with special preference for candidates who have strong knowledge of health plan, employer health benefits, and/or at-risk provider segments
  • Demonstrated success defining, planning, launching, and supporting products
  • Proven experience in data analysis, business case development, analytical decision-making, and communicating decision-making rationale
  • Proven track record of building and empowering high-performance teams
  • Strong knowledge of agile software development methodology and the ability to influence organizational processes
  • Track record of effective and strong collaboration and communication with both market facing and engineering teams
  • Strong business and financial acumen (including understanding of return on investment, cost structures, budgets, etc.)
  • Desirable: Knowledge of modern design practices to ensure clarity in product vision, requirements, and backlog depth

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team
  • Deep matrix management skills. Many critical capabilities will require matrixed support, including product design, product development, marketing, sales, operations, and corporate development.
  • Desirable: A deep affinity for health care and technology and an intense consumer and customer focus
